"Construction Sherpa"

1Degree can provide expert third-party management representing the Owner for any construction project nationwide, regardless of its size, location, complexity, or duration. 1Degree will respectfully hold all parties accountable for their scope of work during DESIGN, PRECONSTRUCTION, CONSTRUCTION AND CLOSEOUT. The reality is the price of your project is a reflection of the Owner, the drawings, the reputation of the GC, and which subcontractors bid on the project.
No matter what part of the construction industry you are in, everyone needs a Sherpa to guide the project delivery team. Navigating the terrain of permitting, choosing the design team, design, choosing the general contractor, construction, preconstruction, final inspections, occupancy and close-out can be like climbing a mountain. 1Degree will act as your Sherpa preparing the way for you with a proven track record and providing a path that is the least treacherous way.
Truth, Grace, Measurable, Clarity
Representing the client is an honor for me with 25 years of construction experience nationally and internationally. As your agent, I will develop the best design, construction and subcontractor team for your specific project using a proven method called, “Choosing By Advantages”. The project team, that consists of all parties will work together towards the same goal which is your goal as the client.

Utilizing the “GO SLOW TO GO FAST” techniques, we will hold the design, construction and subcontractor team accountable to maintain transparency during the design and preconstruction phase so that we eliminate surprises during construction. We will develop a team approach where the subcontractors participate in the design phase where we are separating your project from the rest. As your Sherpa, I will guide the project team to deliver the safest, quickest and best delivery method so that we all make it to the summit and back safely.
I guarantee a 3-5% reduction in cost, less conflict, reduced change orders, improved material selections and procurement period, reduced punch list and schedule confidence using these tried and true techniques.
This will be done by developing a teamwork approach through TRUST. The team will be selected through an RFP process and will become THE DREAM TEAM. The success of the project will be measured by developing THE CONDITIONS OF SATISFCATION (COS). Here are some of the services provided:

GO SLOW TO GO FAST:
Whether you're training for a triathlon, embarking on a hike, or launching a construction project, success is determined by preparation. The performance of your construction team will be a direct reflection of how well the project was planned.
As your Construction Sherpa, I anticipate obstacles before they arise and provide strategic solutions to keep the project on track.
Developing the right budget, selecting the best site, assembling the ideal design and construction team, structuring a strong RFP and contract process, and navigating permitting—all of these are critical components of a successful project. The design phase is the foundation, and if not executed with truth, grace, clarity, and measurable criteria, the project will fall short of expectations.
Our goal is to produce a detailed set of construction documents with minimal RFIs and zero contractor-driven change orders. This phase requires a team that understands the direct impact of materials, specifications, value engineering, and schedule decisions. By taking a disciplined and intentional approach, we will eliminate unnecessary redesign and ensure that no additional value engineering is needed once construction begins.

MANAGING RISK:
The success of construction is a reflection of the work put into design, estimating, and preconstruction. Our #1 priority during this phase is to manage risk at every level—for the Owner, Design Team, Contractor, Subcontractors, Inspectors, and even the community the project serves.
By the time we reach construction, our team will have built relationships founded on trust. Through teamwork, technology, clear communication, and a relentless focus on the overall project budget and schedule, we will navigate challenges with confidence. This is where all the preparation pays off, ensuring efficiency, quality, and predictable project outcomes.

From day one, every decision is made with the ultimate goal in mind—achieving substantial completion on time and within budget, allowing the owner to begin generating revenue. Each project is more than just a building; it’s the realization of someone's vision and investment.
At 1Degree, we lead with the mindset that direction—not intention—determines the outcome. If at any point the project veers off course, we will make deliberate course corrections rather than simply hoping for the best. As your Construction Sherpa, I will guide the project to a successful final destination—one you’ll want to repeat again and again.
YOUR DIRECTION, NOT YOUR INTENTIONS, DETERMINES YOUR FINAL DESTINATION:
